Oh, yay, it's Murphy! I love Murphy! *hugs him* I'm so happy he made it into your story! While Toby is certainly my favorite Oz character, Murphy might have taken the prize if Fontana had just had him macking on some hot dude on the show. ;) (And, no, I'm not talking about McManus.)
Murphy kept looking, a different kind of read now, and Elliot tried not to squirm.
Hee! Murphy KNOWS. He's no dummy.
Oh, I love how protective he is of Toby, and he doesn't want Elliot making more problems for him than he's already experienced. And he does a nice summary of the B/K relationship, even though he technically gets the murder vs. suicide part wrong. And I can actually see Toby believing at times that he basically murdered Chris anyway, just using words instead of his hands to push Chris over that railing.
I like that you had Murphy mention that he was the one who pulled Toby back from the railing, and remembering that expression on his face at the time. I guess he thinks Toby pushed Chris, but immediately regretted it?
It's funny that Elliot never really expressed curiosity about the circumstances of Chris's death. I guess he simply figured that death in prison is not unusual, and he was also sensitive to the fact that Toby wouldn't ever want to talk to him about it.
He hadn't had any real idea how screwed up Toby was.
Well, duh. I don't think anyone, even Toby, realizes how screwed up he is.
