Just when I thought this story couldnt get any better.. Wow. Best chapter yet. oh, my emotions. Even though it felt like a foot in mouth moment, I LOVED Toby dumping everything on the table.
I must admit, I went back and read the first half of this again since it had been a while, and I'm a read it all at once kinda person. I guess I felt too sorry for Toby the first time around (still fresh from mainlining Oz) to recognize what a lying asshole he could be. Now, time has passed, and the characters have grown so much.
Back to Toby blurting everything out. The contrast between the guy who played everything so close to the chest and would lie about anything and this painful, brutal, honesty? God it was beautiful, even if he didn't think it all the way through. I mean really, how can Elliott be that upset about this?
Since I did all this re-reading, I have to compliment you again. I enjoyed your story even more the second time, having more insight on your characters. Like I said, I'm viewing Toby a lot differently.. I don't mind nearly as much that Elliott decked him. And I'm that much more proud of him. And Elliott.. I love how his confidence has blossomed. All the things we love about his alpha maleness are just.. God. I laughed out loud at that great little non-sequitur: Cooking, Thanksgiving, games, penetration!
You nailed Thanksgiving, by the way. I feel our national day of gluttony was well represented. -E (edub82)
