So it turned out elves weren't going to sneak out and code my story for me in the night, so I had to do it myself. But it's done!
Someone Like You is now available as a single file on my website. It's 1.4MB. Hilarious.
Here's crossing my fingers that I haven't accidentally pasted the same chapter twice, or something. Do let me know if you come across any disasters.
Of course, being a single file, it's um, very easy to download and snarfle down in a night, but it would still be, like, super-nice, of course, if you don't mind, to hear a little feedback... ~stubbing toe in ground~
And this, I believe, is the end of my posting about this fic. So weird. Gotta tell you, I really miss hanging out with Toby and Elliot and Holly every day. I'm poking at other stuff, but it feels like I've had a fight with my roommates and they aren't talking to me anymore.

Oz/Law & Order: SVU crossover
Tobias Beecher's trying to rebuild his family in the shadow of the man he was in prison. Elliot Stabler's struggling to continue in the wake of divorce while his job eats away at his soul. It makes for an odd friendship, but it works.
Beecher/Stabler, Beecher/anonymous fucks, a living history of Beecher/Keller and Elliot Stabler/Kathy Stabler.
If you like long, meandering stories about guys dealing with the fallout of canonical angst while gradually falling into a relationship that perhaps challenges their earlier notions of stable heterosexuality, occasionally fucking it up, coming out to friends and family, and generally learning to get through the stresses of everyday life together, then, this is that. Basically, this is an attempt to believably turn Elliot gay. And willing to bring home an ex-con with Toby's baggage. It took a lot of words.
Story wordcount: 250 500
Rated R. Story contains some violence and references to sexual violence. I'll be very specific about sexual violence: no sexual violence will happen to any of the major characters, and no sexual violence happens 'onscreen'. However, Toby was raped in canon, and Elliot's canonical job is dealing with sexual violence, and these both play a role in the story, sometimes with details. Also, there's some rough consensual sex. If you're okay with either Oz or SVU, you should be fine.
Post-Oz. Splits off in season 7 of SVU: Elliot's divorce is in the works, Olivia's his partner, he's cleaned up Katheen's DUI.

Maybe if you make them a salted caramel peanut butter pie, they'll start talking to you again. ;-)

Date: 2015-04-16 05:14 pm (UTC)As in Chris has lost Toby, and clones him. The first attempt fails, but he keeps trying..umm.

Date: 2015-04-17 04:05 am (UTC)Oh, that's cool.
I want to know about all the failed attempts. Does he love his failures?

Date: 2015-04-18 02:32 am (UTC)Oh. This sounds awesome. Take your time on it, I patiently await.
And it'll be a nice treat, for Chris to be the one to enjoy the clones for a change!

Date: 2015-04-18 02:42 am (UTC)Ha, Thanks sue. I'd rank more of this as pretty unlikely, but I won't say never. I certainly have scenarios in my head that I like to daydream on when I'm feeling too lazy to write, but nothing I'm likely to put to screen.
As for Christmas, I don't have any specific ideas, but I'm quite sure Harry will come, and he'll be thoroughly disappointed by all the parts without Elliot's kids, 'cos they're cool.

Date: 2015-04-19 11:21 am (UTC)Hey silentflux! Thank you!
I get it. Each consumption method had its pleasures. I like throwing myself into a big fic and snarfling it down in one go.
I'm so happy you liked it! I love the nitty gritty reality stuff, folding the boring RL details into the relationship. I would totally enjoy a story that was just Toby and Elliot bickering about the laundry and doing the grocery shopping.
